TL — Tiling
Floor and wall tiling, with the waterproofing done first.
Tiling fails at the preparation, not the tile. An uneven screed telegraphs through, and a wet area tiled over inadequate waterproofing will leak into the room below regardless of how well the tiles were laid. We price the preparation as part of the job because leaving it out is how a cheap quote becomes an expensive repair.

Standards that apply
What the regulations require of this work. These describe the standard, not a claim about any particular contractor — ask any contractor, including us, to show you their registration.
Covers substrate preparation, adhesive selection, movement joints and grouting. Movement joints are required at defined intervals and at changes of plane — leaving them out is a common cause of tiles lifting.
Wet areas must be waterproofed before tiling. Tile adhesive and grout are not waterproofing layers.
